Claude Moore Colonial Farm

May 16, 2018
The Claude Moore Colonial Farm will hold a rally for the community to attend on Thursday, May 31, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Save the Farm Rally provides an opportunity for members of the community to show their support of this privately operated National Park and living history museum.
The National Park Service has communicated its intent to close the Claude Moore Colonial Farm on Dec. 21, 2018. The Friends of Claude Moore Colonial Farm have launched a public campaign in response in order to keep the Farm operating and open to the public. Since opening to the public in 1973 the Claude Moore Colonial Farm has welcomed more than 2 million visitors including families, school groups and others from across the country and internationally. The Farm's mission is to educate the public about early American daily life and agriculture. The Farm authentically recreates how colonists lived and worked in late 18th century Virginia, right before the American Revolution.
Help keep the Claude Moore Colonial Farm open and operating by attending the Save the Farm Rally on Thursday, May 31. The Rally will take place starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Pavilions of Turkey Run, adjacent to the Farm (6310 Georgetown Pike). An update will be provided on our Save the Farm actions and progress. The Farm team will be on hand to distribute flyers, posters and other information. Save the Farm tee shirts also will be available for purchase. Enjoy grilled beef hot dogs, sodas, chips and a cash bar (beer and wine). RSVP by May 24 COB at: savethefarm@1771.org. $5 donation per person to attend.
