We did it - through huge community support and dogged determination to make our government fulfill its promises, we have acheived a safe new home for Ibrahim and his young family.

The family arrived in Australia and is working through all the admin required to live in Australia (Medicare, Centrelink, Myki ....) while enjoying the freedom and safety in their new home. 

We are still working on getting the visas for Ibrahim's parents to join the family here, but are quietly hopeful

"A new chapter of our lives turned today.We have left behind the place where we grew up, breathed, studied, worked and experienced many sweet and bitter moments.But Afghanistan, with all its beauties, will always be alive in our hearts.
The clean air of the mornings, the clear waters of Amir Dam, and most of all, the friends who will never be forgotten.
It wasn't easy to leave... Nostalgia will always be with us, like a shadow.
But life is full of new paths and we are walking on that journey with the hope of a calmer tomorrow for our children.
I wish Afghanistan will be safe, prosperous and proud so her people can be free and able to work and study.”
