We have reviewed the latest proposals from the KCH Trust regarding the planned reconfiguration of the Chartwell Unit at PRUH released ahead of the Bromley Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee’s Special Meeting taking place Wednesday 26th November, 5pm.  The papers deny closure yet confirm plans to move all haematology in-patients to Denmark Hill and repurpose the Chartwell Unit at PRUH as a day-case/ambulatory service. With no assurance that PRUH will retain protected in-patient cancer capacity (ring-fenced beds, infection-control standards, specialist staffing), local access and care quality remain at risk.
