2026 is shaping up to be an exciting year for preserving Arizona’s history, and you can play a part! The Cotton Gin Legacy Project is moving forward with the support of local organizations, community members and the support of the Arizona Preservation Foundation. I have been working closely with the new property owner and have asked them to please listen to my ideas to save these historic buildings for the community. And...great things are now happening!
We’ve also partnered with the Arizona Preservation Foundation and created the Southwest Heritage Circle, a community of neighbors and friends who cherish Arizona’s historic places and make time to take action before they are lost. Together, we share ideas, support each other, and work with organizations across the state to protect and revitalize historic sites. The Circle is opening doors to grants and nonprofit benefits for this and future preservation efforts.
As a local resident for nearly 25 years, I have a deep love for our history and heritage, and I invite people who are passionate about Arizona’s story to join us. If you see me around town, please stop and say hello. I love meeting new people who truly care about our community's past, present and future!
You can help the Cotton Gin Legacy Project by joining the Circle or emailing your letter of support to qccottongin@truenature.media Every note matters, and we’ll share them with government leaders and include in our grant applications. Please keep messages positive and respectful and focus on why this project matters.
