Dear Supporters, 

Thank you for your continued support. Here’s an update on our efforts: 

• Tree Preservation Order 
 I’ve lodged an application with North Somerset Council. Although the timing is tight, it may not be taken on board. 
• Town Council Presentation 
 The petition will be officially presented at the next available town council meeting, and all councillors have already received copies for review. 
• Support from Our MP 
 Dan Aldridge has responded positively and said he would get back to me after investigation and discussions about the tree’s future. 
• Political and Community Backing 
 The local Green Party has given their support. Unfortunately, Councillor Mark Cunniford (Lib Dem) the local councillor for the area and part of the ‘placemaking’ team responsible and the council’s planning policy team have not yet come on board. 
• Signature Drive 
 I’m continuing to collect signatures in person, so every community member has a chance to add their name. 
• Outreach to Environmental Groups 
 I’ve reached out to several tree- and environment-focused organizations to secure additional endorsements.
