Dear Friends of Patterson Farm,
Important decisions will be made this year about historic Patterson Farm in Bucks County, PA. If you are concerned about a future for local agriculture, beautiful country views and serene wildlife habitat, please get involved in advocating for the proper stewardship and preservation of the farm.
Tonight’s meeting of Lower Makefield’s property ad Hoc committee begins at 7:30 pm on zoom. A master plan for the farm is being formulated and your voice for farm preservation is needed. Watch and participate on Lower Makefield Township’s website or YouTube channel.
At present, our local farmers are locked out of Patterson Farm’s barns, while elected officials consider non-agricultural repurposing of the structures to “monetize” the farm.
Your advocacy can help assure future viability for farming on Patterson Farm, at the heart of Lower Makefield’s Agricultural Security Area. Please oppose non-agricultural development in the A.S.A. Patterson Farm is a working farm, as it has been since it was settled in 1683, and should remain so to benefit present and future generations. But farmers need the barns to facilitate agriculture. Let’s stand with them.
We’ve provided township supervisors with a plan to restore the vacant Satterthwaite House as the Patterson Agriculture and Heritage Center, the home of our preservation group and a place where the community can appreciate the farms essential natural benefits. Thank you for your support.
