Friends of Patterson Farm,
Please be aware the Lower Makefield Township Property Ad Hoc Committee will meet Jan 27 at 7:30pm as discussions about the future of Patterson Farm continue. The meeting will be viewable on Lower Makefield’s YouTube and Facebook sites. Public comment will be heard. The Ad Hoc committee was formed after Preservation Pennsylvania selected Patterson Farm for their 2021 At-Risk List following nomination by concerned members of Patterson Farm Preservation, Inc.
Changes are being considered that would significantly impact Patterson Farm’s historic built environment & natural areas, and potentially conflict with the continuation of agriculture. (Zoning conflicts, increased traffic/noise, light pollution, additional impervious surface, contamination of prime farm soils, etc.)
Please join Patterson Farm Preservation, Inc. in support of permanent preservation for the entirety of Patterson Farm, one of Pennsylvania’s most important agricultural resources; and the restoration of the farm’s homes and buildings for contributory value to the continuation of farming. Patterson Farm is within the township Agricultural Security Area and must remain free of encroachment by non agricultural uses that conflict with farming.
Patterson Farm has been farmed continuously since it’s founding in 1683. Your signatures on this petition, comments at public meetings, and financial support are essential to achieving preservation and restoration of Patterson Farm as its 350th anniversary approaches.
