Lower Makefield township now has a board of supervisors who are more "farm friendly" than past boards, but pressure on them is extremely high to allow non-agricultural uses on Patterson Farm that are counter to zoning and encroach on the farm's highest purpose - agriculture! Please attend and support 100% preservation for Patterson Farm, an agricultural treasure! Topics of on the agenda: preservation of farmland, award of farmland lease, and future of historic Satterthwaite house, c. 1760. We are very pleased Bucks County Judge Mellon agreed with the unanimous decision of the Zoning Hearing Board that a horse medical complex is NOT an appropriate use for Patterson Farm. This decision brings renewed hope that Satterthwaite House can be appropriately restored and revitalized to support the continued agricultural use of Patterson Farm, with all the benefits it provides to our region. But preservation won't happen without support from the public.
