Hello Buckman Families and Supporters! I have a big TIME SENSITIVE update for you!!
Buckman and up to 13 other schools have been slated for CLOSURE if PPS' recent "Rightsizing" proposal is voted through by the school board.
There has been a HUGE public outcry from PPS' families, and they've organized a peaceful student-led protest that is giving our students the platform to take their voices to Salem right from their PPS schools -- by participating in a Sit-Out at the beginning of their school day.
Buckman Arts Focus Elementary and Sunnyside Environmental School will be kicking off these Sit-Outs tomorrow, and we need help getting the word out to current Buckman families!
Here's the resource with all the info:

If you're reading this and your child attends another PPS school, and you're interested in getting the Sit-Out Toolkit to get started on organizing a Sit-Out at your school, just email "Info" and your school's name to ppssitout@gmail.com
Thank you so much for reading this update and for your ongoing support of Buckman!!! We appreciate you!💛
