بناءاً على الشكوى الموجّهة من قبل جمعيّة الأرض لبنان إلى النائب العام الإستئنافي في جبل لبنان حول مشروع البناء في عمشيت الذي يهدد موئل فقمة الراهب المتوسطيّة المهدّدة بالإنقراض،
وتطبيقاً للقوانين البيئيّة المرعيّة الإجراء وللإتفاقيّات الدوليّة البيئيّة الموقّعة من الدولة اللبنانيّة،
اتخذت القاضية غادة عون قراراً بوقف الأعمال فوراً وإعداد دراسة تقييم أثر بيئي.
على أثر هذا القرار توجّهت القوى الأمنيّة إلى الموقع وتم سحب آليات الحفر إلى خارج العقار.

Based on TERRE Liban's complaint to the Public Prosecutor at the Mount Lebanon Court of appeal regarding the construction project in Amchit that threatens the habitat of the endangered Mediterranean monk seal,
and in implementation of applicable environmental laws and international environmental agreements signed by the Lebanese Governement,
Judge Ghada Aoun made a decision to immediately stop the work and prepare an environmental impact assessment study.
Following this decision, the security forces were present on site and the drilling machines were withdrawn outside the property.
