Bleecker Street Pizza called the police, and a community affairs representative from the precinct visited the west village location. They asked the owners not to inform their customers that they are being evicted. As you know, this is a form of intimidation. The police should be neutral in this case.
The block party that was originally planned for Taco Mahal’s 10th anniversary has been canceled for October 13th. However, I would like everyone to come and help hold a peaceful protest in support of this small business. The fabric of our west village neighborhood has already changed significantly due to greedy landlords. If you can make it, please come by between 630pm on October 13th.
