Dear friends and community: We want to share that a one-year funding agreement between our nonprofit organization, Stay Arts, and the City of Downey has been approved. City Council voted unanimously in favor at the council meeting on Tuesday, January 23rd and an agreement was finalized over these past few weeks. To say this experience was challenging would be an understatement, but you all kept us optimistic and assured. There are no words to express the gratitude we have for each and every one of you for showing up for us. Our community inspires us to continue advocating for the arts and to further our work and mission. Thank you for signing and sharing our petition. Thank you to those that joined us in person at the council meetings and voiced your support. Thank you for the letters of support from local artists, teachers, leaders and organizations. And thank you to everyone that motivated us daily by making a donation or sending an encouraging message. Along with this news, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our Spring season of art classes and workshops at Stay Gallery! Registration is now open for youth, teens and adults. Explore a wide variety of artist-led classes such as painting, digital arts and figure drawing.
