THANK YOU to the many artists, families and friends that joined us during Tuesday’s city council meeting at Downey City Hall.

We surpassed our goal of 1,000 petition signatures, received 29 letters of support, and had 30 people take up a full hour of public comment to share their stories and support for Stay!

At the end of public comment, the council agreed to place our operating agreement on the agenda for an upcoming city council meeting, bringing us one step closer to saving Stay Gallery. We couldn’t have accomplished this without all of you.

Our efforts are not over yet. We still need a majority vote from city council to renew our operating agreement and secure continued funding from the Art in Public Places fund.
