We are launching the 'Save St. Stephen's Rd' campaign out of necessity—to defend the well-being of our neighborhood against a 12-year industrial intrusion.

St. Stephen's Rd is the last unindustrialized corridor in our densely populated corner of Bridgeport. It is not a truck route; it is the heart of our community. Lining this street are two senior apartment complexes, a middle school, a high school, a playground, and a housing project for over 1,200 residents. This road is our main artery for walking, biking, and commuting—a source of daily tranquility and connection.

The planned upgrade to the Water Pollution Control Facility threatens to transform our peaceful residential street into a relentless, dangerous, and polluted industrial haul road. The constant barrage of heavy dump trucks would create an unacceptable reality.

Compromised Safety: Endangering the hundreds of students, seniors, and families who cross and use this road every day.
Degraded Health: Filling our air with diesel particulate matter and our ears with constant industrial noise.
Shattered Peace: Destroying the very tranquility that makes this a neighborhood worth living in.

Our campaign is not against the necessary upgrades, but for a smarter, more humane plan. We are calling for the immediate rerouting of all construction traffic away from St. Stephen's Rd. 

We believe in a Bridgeport that prioritizes the health and safety of its residents over the convenience of an industrial hauling plan. We are fighting for our children's lungs, our elders' peace, and our community's right to exist without being sacrificed for a dozen years.
