WHAT:

Although county officials insist they can neither ensure access to the St John's cemetery nor take responsibility for its care because its on unclaimed private property, they have taken it upon themselves to officiate quartlery public visitations in order to control both physical access to the site as well as the emerging historical narrative associated with its becoming lost to local memory. 

We call on all freedome fighters in Denton County and surrounding areas concerned with racial justice to join us this Saturday at SJC to learn more about the how the area's ongoing legacy of white supremacy has buried this freedpeople's community twice already, and more important, how you can help ensure it doesn't happen for a third time.
