Newsday is reporting that "A five-foot-long American alligator, [who] had been illegally kept by a couple in the town of Islip, will be sent to a wildlife sanctuary after its owners turned the reptile over to the Suffolk County SPCA."
First sloths, then a lynx, now an alligator? The Town of Islip has a serious illegal wildlife problem!
Please help us save sensitive, nocturnal sloths by sharing this petition with five people: https://www.change.org/p/help-sloths-shut-down-notorious-animal-exploiter-on-long-island
Then join us for our rally and town hall meeting this Tuesday, August 9, at 1:30pm: https://fb.me/e/1DEU80ZVt
If you cannot make the meeting, please call (631) 224-5500 and urge Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter to take Islip's ban on wild animals seriously and shut this cruel exhibit down!
