Revised budget proposals from North Ayrshire Council now include the complete closure of Saltcoats Library. Public consultation on the proposals has now closed. It is understood that a vast number of objections have been submitted. It is critical that if we are to save Saltcoats Library and protect the existing hours of both libraries that as much public support as possible is evidenced. 

In an area of high deprivation the retention of all libraries is critical. The closure of Saltcoats Library would have a negative impact on its users as well as the the community as a whole.
