Save Royal Story: Give the Game a Chance to Live On
The Issue
To Century Games and all supporters of Royal Story,
With only days remaining until the announced permanent closure of Royal Story on September 15, 2026, players around the world are facing the loss of a game that has been part of their lives for more than a decade.
Royal Story is more than a game to many of us. It has been a creative outlet, a place to build and play, and a source of friendships, memories, and cherished moments.
We understand that maintaining an older web-based game can be financially and technically challenging. However, before Royal Story disappears permanently, we respectfully ask Century Games to consider whether there is a way for its legacy to continue.
What we are asking Century Games to consider:
1. Transfer or license the game
Allow a qualified independent team, company, or community-led organization to take over the necessary hosting and operating responsibilities, subject to Century Games' requirements and approval.
2. Sell or transfer the relevant rights and assets
If Century Games no longer intends to operate Royal Story, please consider whether the relevant rights, source materials, assets, or other necessary components could be sold or transferred to a qualified party interested in continuing the game.
3. Consider a preservation or offline version
If continued online operation is not possible, please consider releasing a standalone or offline version that would allow players to preserve and enjoy the game.
4. Explore other preservation options
If appropriate and legally possible, we also ask Century Games to consider other solutions that could preserve Royal Story for its community.
We are not asking Century Games to continue carrying the cost of operating the game. We are asking for an opportunity to explore alternatives that could allow Royal Story to survive through another operator or preservation solution.
Most importantly, we respectfully ask that this proposal be forwarded to the appropriate management, business development, licensing, IP, or production team for consideration.
Every signature represents a player who believes Royal Story deserves a chance to live on.
Please don't close the gates of our kingdom forever.
