Thank you to everyone who supported this petition calling for a pause to Plan Change 14.

We presented this petition to the Independent Hearings Panel earlier this month and received a fair hearing.

We can only hope their take on PC14 will result in recommendations that will produce much better and fairer results for our city.

Residential intensification needs to be planned and done well, where it is needed and in response to demand.  

What we don’t need is intensification enabled to the extent that it gives power to developers to shape our city, makes day to day urban living more difficult, dismantles existing communities, makes inner city housing more expensive and encourages more people into rural areas.

The panel is due to make recommendation to the CCC at the end of April next year.
