Hi everyone, following my previous update, I’ve received one more candidate response regarding the underpass.

Nikki Kaur — Yes, supports a genuine replacement connection, and references former Cr Tess Law’s advocacy and Council’s formal position on the issue. Would advocate to the Victorian Government and relevant agencies, support Council’s efforts, and keep residents informed. Does not nominate a specific option (underpass/bridge/other). On timeframe, cautions it won’t be resolved overnight given the need for State cooperation, funding and technical assessments, but says challenges shouldn’t be an excuse for inaction and that election periods are an opportunity to seek commitments.

I’d encourage you to read these alongside each candidate’s broader platform (all candidate statements are on the VEC website) and weigh this issue when completing your ballot. In a by-election, every vote carries real weight.
