Thank you so much for signing the petition. I really appreciate your support. There are 35 of us now! Thank you also to those who donated to promote the petition. It keeps a running tally, so it seems that will keep us going for a week! As always, please feel free to share the petition.

Now, onto business. I followed up with my local Kirklees Council councillor last night. Apologies for the technical language, but here's our exchange:

Me:  Just to let you know, I did read the budget impact assessment for Adults Health and the one for Growth Regeneration. They didn't appear to cover the issue of the impact on service provision by someone else (Recovery College) renting Council property (the Pathways site). I would like to appeal (as a service user) for a six month extension on the building to allow us to investigate other options and allow RC to run the courses planned for next term. I would be willing to provide documents and/or appear at the Council to argue my case, as the HUDAWI centre members were able to. I just don't know how to do this and I know there are time pressures on this.

Councillor: The time is short before the budget is set but there maybe more time before anything happens in which to put your representing, I'll forward the above to the Cabinet Member responsible if that's OK.

That's the scoop so far. I'm hoping to chase this up again today and will feed back any updates. But it sounds more positive than I had thought. Fingers crossed!
