Randwick Stables would like to thank you for your heartwarming support this far!

IMPORTANT: SUBMISSIONS
Each one of us now needs to put in a personal submission to the State Government. These can be made via the following link, up until November 25th:

www.wa.gov.au/government/document-collections/roe-8-west-and-roe-9-corridor-planning-study

Please include the following in your personal submissions:

  • Randwick Stables was listed as a Category A living heritage site in 2001.
  • Daily engagement with local community; providing connection with animals and the environment, social interaction, a sense of belonging in the community and within a historical perspective.
  • Necessity for protective zoning around the stables, including Cardigan St. To provide access for the horses and community, ensuring viable contiuation as a horse stables.
  • Cardigan St is part of the historical path leading to the heritage listed horse beach. The bushland and houses deserve to be protected.
  • Randwick Stables is integral to the Wildlife Corridor. The cape lilac trees are a food source for the endangered red-tailed cockatoos.
  • Randwick Stables is important as part of the passive open space. Passive open space is lacking in the City of Cockburn (most dedicated to sporting).
  • Randwick Stables Community Garden is a valuable community asset, linked to the stables as part of a wider City Farm.
  • The bushland to the North (behind the stables) needs protection as it is integral to the stables and as part of the Wildlife Corridor.
  • Refer to City of Cockburn's 10 year plan: To protect and enhance our natural areas, address climate change, improve urban forest, provide access to high quality open spaces.
  • The entire Wildlife Corridor deserves protection, as an important habitat for our precious species.

Include any ideas that you have for the corridor eg. reinstating the wetlands in the open space.

Let’s mobilise to protect this important area. Thank you!
