Teaching Children to Stand Up For What They Believe in.

Puddle Jumpers Incorporated
17 May 2017
We've had someone question about involving Melanie's children in this nightmare with the appeal to ask for #LeCornuHaveAHeart and #SavePuddleJumpersHome. SO we're just letting you know this appeal is VERY much from them too. You see Mel's children absolutely were and are involved in every step of the process - look at these photos from the very beginning. They were and have been at the "offices" more than not over the last 5 years. They shared in every step of it's development as it happened. Sure, they are hurting and confused and upset over what's happening too. Although they don't know all the details about what's happening we haven't tried to HIDE everything from them, because that's not fair either. There's a need therefore for them to understand what so many of their role models (the volunteers) and families/children are going through because they are here with them after school, at camps, activity days and food nights. They come to the offices on nearly a daily basis, they have played, worked and even slept here. Largely these experiences are positive for them and they learn so much about caring for those less fortunate than themselves and helps shape their thinking about the difference they can make. SO.... this current experience is no different, they are learning to stand up for what they believe in, they are learning that sometimes rubbish happens and you need to stand up and fight for those who can't. We're hoping they'll also learn that there's a good news story at the end too, it's as much their place as it is ours.
