Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read this petition and especially those who have signed it. This platform is a place for those who want their voices to be heard. It is crucial that the community and faculty feel valued in the decision-making process that affects not only them, but most importantly, the children of Woodland Acres. It was a rare opportunity to sit in on the process of electing our principal at the beginning of the 2021 school year; and it should be a continued practice going forward. Parents, teachers, and community members deserve to have input on their local school leaders.
Principal Jennings’ vision is what started this petition. It is worth fighting for. Because her vision embodies the mission of Duval County Public Schools: To provide educational excellence in every school, in every classroom, for every student, every day.
