Thank you to everyone who has signed this petition! As of August 25, 2023, there are currently 993 supporters - an amazing achievement! We are so happy with the turnout and interest in this effort to preserve the original appearance of the Katedra pod Sosnami. This important Polish landmark holds a very special place in the hearts of the Polish-Canadian community. We are very grateful for all the support and for sharing this call to action.

Thanks to the continued pressure on decision makers to preserve the original design of the cathedral, we are pleased to note that further progress has been made. The words "Kaszuby" have now been added to the structure, as well as the phrases "Bóg Honor Ojczyzna" and "Pókoj i Dobro", which are on the current structure. In addition, the height of the structure has also been raised to accommodate the painting of the Madonna, and the bell tower removed. This is based on the most recent images of the project plan, as shown in the attached picture. These are all steps in the right direction. It is my understanding that there are continued efforts to ensure that the structure is made of wood, like the original. We hope that progress and cooperation can continue in order for future generations to enjoy this wonderful and spiritual palce. 

It is important that structural integrity is maintained with the new improvements; however, this does not have to mean redesigning the cathedral. It is already beautiful and worth replicating. Many landmarks and monuments which are much older than this one are carefully restored every year without altering the original design and aesthetic. There is no reason why the same cannot be accomplished for our Katedra pod Sosnami.

Dziękujemy wszystkim, którzy podpisali tę petycję! Kiedy to piszę, mamy obecnie 992 zwolenników – niesamowite osiągnięcie! Jesteśmy bardzo zadowoleni z frekwencji i zainteresowania akcją zachowania pierwotnego wyglądu Katedry pod Sosnami. Ten ważny polski obiekt zajmuje szczególne miejsce w sercach społeczności polsko-kanadyjskiej. Jesteśmy bardzo wdzięczni za całe wsparcie i udostępnienie tego wezwania do działania.

Dzięki ciągłemu naciskowi na decydentów, aby zachowali oryginalny projekt katedry, z przyjemnością odnotowujemy dalszy postęp. Do struktury dodano teraz słowa „Kaszuby” oraz wyrażenia „Bóg Honor Ojczyzna” i „Pokój i Dobro”, które znajdują się na obecnym obiekcie. Ponadto podwyższono również wysokość konstrukcji, aby pomieścić obraz Madonny, i usunięto dzwonnicę. Opiera się to na najnowszych zdjęciach planu projektu, jak pokazano na załączonym obrazku. To wszystko kroki we właściwym kierunku. Jak rozumiem, trwają wysiłki mające na celu zapewnienie, aby konstrukcja była wykonana z drewna, podobnie jak oryginał. Mamy nadzieję, że postęp i współpraca będą kontynuowane, aby przyszłe pokolenia mogły cieszyć się tym cudownym i duchowym miejscem.

Ważne jest, aby dzięki nowym ulepszeniom została zachowana integralność strukturalna; nie musi to jednak oznaczać przeprojektowania katedry. To już jest piękne i warte powtórzenia. Wiele zabytków i pomników, które są znacznie starsze od tego, jest co roku starannie odnawianych, bez zmiany pierwotnego projektu i estetyki. Nie ma powodu, dla którego nie można by tego samego dokonać w przypadku naszej Katedry pod Sosnami.
