5,450 signatures. We know the odds. We still had to try.

We’ve reached 5,450 signatures. Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared and supported this.
And thanks for all the love - and yes, even the hate. There’s one thing I want to make clear.
We know UNITE will probably close regardless of this petition. We understand that decisions like this involve budgets, people and plans that were in motion before the announcement. Being willing to try doesn’t mean we’re unaware of how those decisions work.
I’m not promising that enough signatures will magically reverse the shutdown. This petition came from frustration, love for the game and, honestly, some desperation. I felt I had to try something.
The main request is to keep UNITE playable. The improvements mentioned in the original letter are suggestions about its potential. Keeping the game available would already mean a lot.
Some people have said we should spend our time on something better. I’m comfortable spending some of mine on this. People are allowed to care about a game and make an effort to preserve it, even when the odds are poor.
I’d like to keep the focus on that effort. We can disagree about whether this will achieve anything and still treat each other decently. Personal arguments won’t help us show how many people genuinely want to keep playing.
That’s what these signatures can demonstrate: there are people who still want UNITE in their lives. We’re asking those responsible to hear that and consider whether any viable way to keep it playable remains.
If you feel the same, please keep sharing the petition with other players. Keep it respectful, keep expectations realistic, and let people decide whether they want to support it.
Whatever the outcome, I want to know we made the effort. Thank you to everyone making it with us.
