✨ CAMPAIGN UPDATE: Plumstead Isn’t in the Consultation — But We’re Not Done ✨

Thank you to every single one of you who has signed, shared and spoken up for Plumstead Adventure Playground.

Greenwich Council has now launched its public consultation on the future of the borough’s adventure playgrounds — and we want to explain what this means.

🔹 Plumstead Adventure Playcentre is not included in the proposals.
The Council say no changes are currently planned for Plumstead.
This is a direct result of pressure: petitions, public meetings, emails, and a visibly united community.

So first — thank you.
This happened because residents spoke up.

But we need to be clear:

⚠️ This is NOT a long-term guarantee.
There is no written commitment that Plumstead will remain open, fully staffed and funded beyond this consultation cycle.

We also understand — from multiple sources — that Plumstead may have been excluded for political reasons, because of concern about losing votes locally ahead of the May 2026 election.

So while this is a step forward, it is not job done.

We must remain organised and vigilant.

🔹 Meanwhile, the other adventure playgrounds ARE still under threat.
The consultation continues to use the language of “reimagining,” but the reality is:

• Loss of trained playworkers
• Loss of open-access adventure play
• Transformation into something fundamentally different

We know — and thousands of families across Greenwich know — that staffed adventure play is not replaceable.

So while Plumstead may be temporarily safe, other communities now need support — just as we did.

We are now shifting from protecting one playground to protecting all five (Meridian, Coldharbour, Glyndon, Woolwich, Plumstead).
