Supporters - I'd like to personally thank everyone who has helped get the word out to save the trees at this property, especially the large Valley Oak. Unfortunately, the city unanimously passed the proposed development as-is, which means all the trees we were fighting for will be removed. 

The developer has pledged 150k in lieu of these trees to be planted around the city, and the City Council and Mayor Jack Balch felt this was a fair trade. 

While I feel strongly this decision will be a regrettable one, the decision was made unanimously without room for more discussion. I feel better knowing that myself, my neighbors, and all of you fought for the tree - we'd all be better off if everyone had our way of thinking.
