Dear Friends,
Good news! Thanks to you, this petition will be tabled in the NSW parliament on Tuesday 17th September by Sue Higginson MP of the Greens. Where the decision-makers can vote to protect Pine Creek Koala Habitat. This is where you come in...we would like to blitz the ministers with support for the Forest Bridge ahead of Tuesday, by getting as many people as possible to send emails directly to the ministers in the next couple of days. Please take a little time out of your day to be a keyboard warrior, to let them know we are watching.
We have included below the contact details for the relevant ministers and a draft email that you can copy and paste, or write your own if you feel.
Thanks so much for your support! We are almost there.

DRAFT EMAIL
Pine Creek State Forest - Support the Forest Bridge Proposal.
Dear Minister,
I am writing to ask you to support the The Forest Bridge for Pine Creek State Forest as proposed by Friends of Pine Creek in the petition tabled for parliament on September 17th 2024, to permanently conserve the critical wildlife corridor linking the coastal Bongil Bongil National Park to the western tablelands of Dorrigo World Heritage National Park near Coffs Harbour.
Currently there is a gap between Bongil Bongil NP and Bindarri NP that is occupied by small sections of Pine Creek and Tucker’s Nob State Forests. In 2021, both Bongil Bongil National Park and Bindarri National Park were listed as Assets of Intergenerational Significance for koalas by the Minister for Energy and Environment, warranting them special protection. This places Pine Creek SF as one of the most important state forests in NSW for koala conservation. The ‘Forest Bridge’ proposal adds the missing section to this nationally important wildlife habitat continuum of permanently conserved public forest, requiring only approx. 1650 hectares to complete. It will secure a permanently protected land bridge for native terrestrial and arboreal wildlife to safely move east to west, from sea level on the Pacific Coast to over 1500m altitude in the magnificent World Heritage areas of New England and Dorrigo National Parks. This corridor will become very important in mitigating the effects of a warming climate.
Please support the Forest Bridge Proposal and stop the logging of Pine Creek koala habitat.
Signed
