Well done! The Government is listening, but we need to keep going.

Thanks to your amazing support, the Labor Government's plan to ban outdoor basketball courts has been criticised loud and clear by basketball community groups and families across WA, with nearly 4,000 signatures in just 24 hours.

In response to this community backlash, the Government has rushed to distance themselves from the plan, but the core problem still remains that outdoor basketball courts can be shut down by local governments due to noise complaints.

In fact, since 2019, six councils have either closed down outdoor basketball rings or scrapped plans to build one following noise complaints from residents.

It is critical that we continue pushing for clear guidelines which protect basketball courts in suburbs for our kids to enjoy.
