Whatever one’s view on the contentious subject of devolution, particularly with the island becoming a minority partner within a Combined Authority including Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton with a mainland-based Mayor making strategic decisions for the island, postponing our Council Elections in May is an subversion of democracy.
