Dear petition signer,

Thank you very much for signing the petition and supporting our campaign to stop the demolition and destruction of part of our unique and important heritage.

To maximise our chances of saving the building it's really important that as many objections as possible are posted onto the County Council's planning portal. We would therefore be very grateful if you could spare a few minutes to post your objection. Please see the link to the planning portal below:

A few comments have been made already. The more we leave, the greater the chance we will have of them listening to us. You don't have to live in the parish, county or region to leave your objections.

You could consider leaving a comment something like the message below:

I strongly object to the demolition of any of the station buildings. Bedlington’s heritage needs to be preserved and celebrated not destroyed. The buildings date back to the early 1900’s and are part of the community. Demolishing any part of the station buildings will not add anything to the site nor contribute any social value to the construction taking place.

A community asset transfer would help enable the enthusiastic members of Bedlington’s community to create something wonderful for this end of the town. Funding and grants could be sought, and the re-development of the buildings would provide jobs, volunteering opportunities, a meeting space and point of interest for those travelling the line. A forecourt would add nothing to the site and is not needed.

Yours faithfully

Grant Ward
