I have worked for Shropdoc as a GP for 15 years. I’m now semi retired. Shropdoc is a quality, caring service which goes above and beyond to care for the residents of Shropshire. Why get rid of something which is working so well? I said all this at the online consultation meeting as did everyone else there. Why weren’t our opinions taken into account ? There were no negative comments at all. Getting rid of Shropdoc will overload A/E and the acute hospitals even more. Where is the quality impact assessment?

My mum works as a GP for Shropdoc & I know just how vital this service is for our community. The team is knowledgeable about the local area and offers the most incredible, caring, life saving support. It is genuinely terrifying to think that Shropdoc might be scrapped. People's lives will be at risk as a result. If you care about the health and wellbeing of our local community then you must save Shropdoc.#

KERNOWDOC had this happen when a private provider got the contract by rock bottom prices and promises which weren't delivered. The people of Cornwall suffered for years until the contract was removed after disastrous performance and failure to hit targets and several price hikes.
By the time KERNOWDOC were offered to tender again, the staff, infrastucture and goodwill had withered away.
Those in power should not displace a not-for-profit enterprise by and for the local people with a commercially driven explant with predictable difficulties in matching quality standards.
