Today's edition of the Glasgow Times features an article about ongoing campaigns, including our petition, against Glasgow Life's proposals:
Glasgow parents speak up against plans to cut school librarians
As stated in the article, and having spoken to Unison, it appears that cutting the librarian posts will only achieve a saving of £37, 285 with the remaining £62, 715 will be saved by reducing the library materials budget. With such a large reduction in the materials budget, retaining the librarian posts is even more vital for their expertise in utilising the existing materials in ways that best support the pupils and staff.
