Since starting the campaign we have spoken to a number of different people who have had experience of successful library campaigns, and we were put in touch with Michael Imperato, a lawyer who has saved libraries across the country.
We believe we have a strong case and legal representation is now secured. We are now asking people to get in touch with us to let us know how they will be affected by the mobile library closures, from a variety of personal circumstances, so that we have a breadth of evidence to build the bigger picture across Devon.
It would be great to get examples from people who rely on the service, such as family carers who cannot leave their family member for long periods of time, people who are unable to use or access the digital service to read books, teachers at schools that use the service, parents of children with additional needs who use the service, people undergoing cancer treatment who use the service, anyone who’s used the home library service and didn’t find it met their needs, anyone who’s used the mobile library as a signposting service which has helped them etc.
If you or someone you know might be able to provide this, please contact Cheryl by emailing cheryl_lavinia@icloud.com or phoning 07495367801
