DCC cabinet voted to close all mobile libraries across Devon, but decision put on hold by opposition

The County Council’s conservative cabinet voted to close ALL MOBILE LIBRARIES ACROSS THE WHOLE OF DEVON.

However this decision has been PUT ON HOLD as it has been called in for scrutiny by opposition councillors.

We cannot allow our rural communities to be left behind. For some, the mobile library is the last remaining service and public transport is non-existent. To close this essential facility is not acceptable. 

The scrutiny meeting will take place at County Hall, Exeter Sept 28th 10.30am and is open to members of the public.
