Thanks to all your support and that of supporters of our other petitions, our save landlines petition has now gone over the magic 100,000 target, showing the mass public support for our petition. The telecom companies are running into increasing difficulty in meeting their target for all landlines to be switched over by January 2027. Vulnerable customers are digging in their heels, insisting that they must be left with the means to contact emergency services in the event of power cuts. Telecom companies can convert digital signals into analogue signals outside the home in many cases, so that customers can retain their powered landlines. We will deliver this petition to 10 Downing Street in the coming weeks.
