Time to take positive action.  Can you reach out to C.A.R.E.S. (Community Action for Responsible Environmental Stewardship) and explore their website? A great resource outlining action you can take to protect your own environment in your own community. You may use it as a tool model.  The site offers a variety to explore details in environmental stewardship. One tab offers Horse Heavens history, geography, the shrub steppe birds and animals. 

If you are moved to the call of fundraising in progress you may donate on their site. They are an established 501c. There are opportunities to volunteer and sign up for their newsletter.
