A further short update.

Today the men were granted a short extension to their tenancy in the boarding houses - through to March 3, 2025. Given the number of men remaining without homes, and the February 1 closure date upon them, that is a welcome but short reprieve. They do not have to vacate their homes on February 1 as was originally advised by the developer - LFD Homes. This affords the men another 30+ days to find new homes.

As previously shared, Homes NSW have prioritised the men's cases for re-homing. Again that has long been welcomed, however progress is painfully slow in light of the scarcity of housing stock. Newtown Neighbourhood Centre and Homes NSW continue to search for suitable homes and a couple of the men have accepted new places in the last 2 days. The hunt continues for the balance of the men.

Our request to the governments to purchase these houses or an alternative option remain open.

I will keep you updated, and the men thank you for your tremendous support at this extremely difficult time.
