This petition and our paper version have documented the significant and growing opposition to this ill-conceived, environmentally reckless project. The mad rush to build ocean wind power on every coast is going to endanger seaside communities everywhere unless we, as a country, stop, slow down, and do it right. What’s being planned for our coastal village, a beautiful summer vacation destination that is also home to many people year-round, is simply outrageous. Avangrid Renewables proposes to run 1200 Megawatts of electricity through our residential neighborhoods after landing their cables on our local beach. That’s twice the electrical output of the recently decommissioned Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant! We need to stop them now and for the future. Thank you for signing and for your support.
