AIC Update: More questions are emerging.

We’re now hearing that the original AIC property sale may have collapsed.

And now the parking lot is reportedly being sold separately.

If true, this raises serious questions.

In 2023, many in the community raised concerns about transparency surrounding the sale of one of Chicago’s most historic Muslim-owned properties.

They were told to move on.

Then the masjid was demolished.

Shortly after the sale, K Giles leased the property as a migrant shelter.

Then AIC as partner and custodian, redevelopment and crypto-linked investment plans emerged.

And now we are hearing the original deal may have fallen apart.

So the community deserves answers:

What happened to Timothy Gianotti and Randal Muhammad?

Were they removed, suspended, or are investigations underway?

What role did Ahmed El-Hattab play in appointing and backing leadership throughout this process?

Who benefited from leasing the property as a migrant shelter?

And why is the parking lot now reportedly being sold?

This is bigger than personalities.

This is about accountability, transparency, and the future of one of Chicago’s most significant Muslim-owned properties.

A masjid is gone.

The original deal may have fallen apart.

And the community still deserves answers.
