Tonight, 15th March there is a closed meeting between, NSFT, CCGs & Amanda Hedley CEO OF MIND, TO DISCUSS THE REFUNDING OF THE LINE. ON 17th MARCH there is another meeting with MPs, NSFT, CCGs & Sonia the deputy head of Mind. I asked to be allowed to attend as a representative of the Service Users. To this end Amanda Hedley requested that I be invited, the request was turned down, I have no idea what they are frightened off, I may have mental health issues but I have been told I am articulate and write good reports. In my life I have mixed with all sorts of people, rich & poor, this just beggars belief? I have written the Michael Scott asking to be allowed to attend, I feel hurt and angry about the matter. This is the reply I received from Michael Scott:- Dear Heather I am sorry you have not been invited , unfortunately this was not my decision . I am speaking to the CCGs tomorrow and will see if I can persuade them. Best Wishes Michael Chief Executive NSFT I am just hoping that the powers that be grant my request. I am getting very frustrated as the time comes close to the Line being closed and no decision made. I don't understand why they can't make the simple decision to refund the Helpline, it has more than proved itself. By the times they have had meetings to discuss meetings, the costs of these meetings could have gone into the funding. They have been provided with all the fact and figures and of the savings that the HELPLINE MAKE. There is another County that fund that fund their Mind Mental Health Helpline permanently. It has proved to take the pressure off GPs, A & E, CRISIS TEAMS & 999 SERVICES. THE NSFT & CCGs have NOTHING TO PUT IN PLACE. I JUST HOPE THAT THEY ARE PREPARED FOR MORE SELF HARMING & SUICIDES. Perhaps they don't care and don't worry about what happens to mental health patients. JUST SWEEP IT UNDER THE CARPET, ARGUE AMONGST THEMSELVES PRETEND IT DOESN'T EXIST ALL FOR THE SAKE OF 2% FUNDING FROM THEIR BUDGETS. £10,000 A month a drop in the OCEAN in real terms. WEST CRISIS TEAM ARE ALREADY UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR. FAILING TO ACT ON ALERTS ON ME, GOING BACK TO DAY 1 OF THE LINE. HOW MANY OTHERS HAVE BEEN LET DOWN???? WHATS WORSE THEY DENY ALL KNOWLEDGE OF THEM!!! SERVICE USERS DO NOT WANT TO GO BACK TO THE OLD SYSTEM OF EITHER BEING TOLD THEY ARE NOT OPEN TO CRISIS, THE PHONES NOT BEING ANSWERED AND WHEN MESSAGES WERE LEFT CALLS NOT RETURNED, OR IF THEY WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET THROUGH BEING TOLD, 'have a drink' ' read a book ' have a bath' etc. NSFT, CCGs take note of the EDP articles, THE PETITION WITH NEARLY 7,000 SIGNATURES PLUS ALL THE COMMENTS FROM ALL SORTS OF PEOPLE FROM ALL WALKS OF LIVES AND SOME FROM OUT OF THE AREA. PLEASE PLEASE REFUND THE LINE PERMANENTLY YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE, MENTAL HEALTH SUFFERERS DON'T want to have to GO THROUGH ALL THIS AGAIN. MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS ARE AN ILLNESS THAT EFFECT PEOPLE FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE, WE DON'T HAVE AN ILLNESS THAT YOU CAN PUT A PLASTER ON, ITS A SILENT ILLNESS AND KILLER Thank you HEATHER
