Yesterday, a Federal Appeals Court for the District of Columbia ruled that the 2018 repeal of net neutrality would be upheld. While this is a blow against the free internet, it also critically struck down a part of the rule that prevented states from enacting their own legislation. The court said that the FCC overstepped in restricting the power of states to legislate.

However, as states move to protect net neutrality, it opens up new legal battlegrounds and potential new court cases. California, which passed a law similar to the Obama-era rules, is likely to be the first of many legal battles on the state level.

So while Tuesday was a victory for opponents of Net Neutrality, the battle continues.  Read more here.
