This week, the FDA publicly committed to pursuing the first-ever formal approval of NDT — and to ensuring continued access for all Americans in the meantime.
The announcement came just days after the agency warned about unapproved animal-derived thyroid medications like Armour, NP Thyroid, and Nature-Throid. Now, Commissioner Marty Makary says the FDA will work toward approval, pending the results of clinical trials.
This is a major shift — and proof that our voices are being heard. But approval isn’t here yet, and the trial timeline remains unclear. We must keep up the pressure to make sure this promise becomes reality.
