We are almost through the deep snow and into the chilly season of the North Country. We have been busy preparing for the next garden season: figuring information to post, which boxes will need prepare or moving, how to best prep for the incoming ebbs and flows, and gearing up to hopefully add further enrichment. We have created an Amazon wishlist for the garden if anyone would like to help out. (Garden Wishlist  )

   There has been an influx of legislation bills at the state level for gardening and native plants in the state of New York since the New Year. One became law late in 2024 to establish Native seed supply for nurseries in the state! Calling or writing into the offices of  Scott Gray, Mark Walczyk, and Claudia Tenney to support bills for farming, gardening, and native species alike will grant state level protection to our community. You can also call or write to Gov. Kathy Hochul and express how important having support for this is. 

    We have begun deeply researching more educational aspects to pass on locally both at our own property and through our volunteering. Lindsey has gotten 4 new certifications as well as accepted to the Pollinator Steward Certification for Pollinator Partnership this year. There's a lot of good happening right now and we are trying to be optimistic.

   We have also been told that we may have the same battle coming up again this season, to which we are preparing. We ARE NOT LOOKING for a legal battle, but are preemptively bracing for the possibility.
