Petition updateSave Montana's Rarest Grizzlies: Reroute the Pacific Northwest TrailFURTHER: THE MONTH OF AUGUST IS CRITICAL FOR ALL GRIZZLIES SOUTH OF THE CANADIAN BORDER.

Lowry BassYaak, MT, United States
Jul 29, 2018
The Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem (NCDE) population of Montana grizzly bears—nearest to the Yaak—and the Yellowstone population of grizzlies, with its females threatened by whitebark pine extinction and now a hunting season—are also prevented from reaching and helping repopulate and recover the Yaak.
A sister organization to the YVFC, Save The Yellowstone Grizzly, will be fighting for all grizzlies south of the Canadian border, particularly during the critical month of August. A final decision on delisting is due August 29th of this year. We will be generating press and traveling to do outreach and education about all Montana bears. Montana’s bears have not recovered according to the Endangered Species Act; there is no connection yet between subpopulations, despite over 40 years of management and “trying.” To help the fight for Yellowstone/Northern Continental Divide/Yaak/Cabinet bears, please visit savetheyellowstonegrizzly.org and click on the “Donate Now” button at the top of the page.
