Dear Friends of the Minnehaha Dog Park,
Thank you for your continued support in the fight to save Minnehaha Dog Park. Your dedication has been instrumental, and now, we have a critical opportunity to make our voices heard.
The Minneapolis Park Board elections are fast approaching, and this is our chance to hold those in power accountable. Some current commissioners have failed to listen to us, their constituents, and have shown a lack of respect and willingness to work with the community. It’s time to send a strong message with your vote.
Election Day: Tuesday, November 4, 2025
Early Voting: In-person and by-mail voting began on September 19 and runs through November 3.
Here’s what you need to know about the candidates:
At-Large Park Board Seat
Meg Forney (Incumbent): Her track record shows she has not supported us. Vote for anyone else.
District 5
Steffanie Musich (Incumbent): Her track record shows she has not supported us. Vote for anyone else. — Colton Baldus, Kay Carvajal Moran, or Justin Cermak.
District 6
Cathy Abene (Incumbent): Instead, vote for challenger Ira Jourdain, who will bring fresh leadership and a willingness to listen to the community.
City Council Candidates
Elizabeth Schaffer: She is running for City Council. If she didn’t listen to us as a commissioner, why would she support us now?
Becka Thompson: Also running for City Council. Her past actions show she is not aligned with our community’s needs.
This election is a pivotal moment to ensure that our parks are managed by leaders who respect and represent the voices of their constituents. We urge you to vote for candidates who will listen, collaborate, and advocate for our community.
Let’s make it clear that we will not tolerate being ignored or disrespected. Your vote is your voice—use it to demand better leadership.
Thank you for standing with us. Together, we can make a difference.
