We have gained a small amount of clarity from a response from council saying that the driving factor to close down the park was that council members reported that when they attended the park to discuss community consultations that they were bullied and intimidated. This appears to be an EXCUSE and used as a false flag justification due to neighbour complaints. 

1. Councillors never voiced they were worried about bullying and intimidation. They never brought it up with the individuals who were apparently bullying them, they never went to police, they never voiced any concern.
2. As somebody who had attended all but one of these consultations, I can attest that I personally did not witness anything more than passionate explanations. Nil evidence of intimidation. Councillors came and left as they pleased (most staying no more than 10 minutes)
3. The council were not concerned of earlier reports of bullying from neighbours who would yell out of their windows and harass park goers (including children)
4. A certain councillor that was willing to hear us out - that liaised with us the most and came out to hear us out on multiple occasions has never been concerned of intimidation or bullying.
5. Out of 15 council members we have only ever met 3 of them yet the vote was 14-1. One council member who has voiced willingness to listen NOW stated they did not know much about the situation prior to voting.
6. Is a handful of people that apparently intimidated the council members going to stop or be resolved by the closure of a much loved public space?
7. Council has arguably bullied park users by taking sides, making false accusations and villainising park users. Etc. e.g. slander and accusations of harassment and  sending out rangers due to complaints from neighbours to enforce a curfew that was later deemed to no longer be in effect. Then blaming park users for high costs of sending out rangers.
