At Memphis Street Academy (MSA), our commitment to literacy is growing. Our English and Special Education teams recently joined forces for a hands-on Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction (EBLI) workshop. Led by APS Director of ELA, Kyle Black, faculty participated in simulations of EBLI lessons to better understand the student experience. Teachers had the opportunity to observe lessons modeled by peers, Mr. Poggiolii (7th grade) and Ms. Cole (6th grade), showcasing the practical applications of the phonics intervention program.
These workshops are critical in helping our educators refine skills and ensure EBLI is effectively implemented as a speech-to-print phonics intervention. By combining EBLI with thinkSRSD for Social Studies, we are equipping our scholars with the tools needed to become confident readers and writers, preparing them for academic success.
We’re tremendously proud of our educators’ and students’ work to make literacy a cornerstone of MSA. Thank you for your continued support!
