Memphis Street Academy (MSA) continues to face the harsh realities of being located in a community deeply impacted by ongoing and dangerous drug trafficking. Recently, another major drug trafficking organization, operating within 1,000 feet of our school, was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office. This is the second large-scale organization taken down in the past two years, yet these prosecutions receive far less public attention compared to similar cases in other areas of the city. Going to school within steps of these events taking place has a palpable toll on our students, challenging their ability to focus on academic responsibilities, with too many suffering in silence despite our extensive efforts to support their holistic needs.
MSA remains committed to protecting our students, but we need your help to raise awareness and take action against the devastating epidemic that plagues our community. Rest assured, we will continue to offer critical programs like health center access, English language support, and food and nutrition services for our students and families.
Thank you to all who remain invested in MSA and our scholars—please continue to share our petition with friends and family, and follow us on social media for updates: @americanparadigmschools.
